When some of our favorite authors and illustrators learned that schools would be closed to enforce social distancing, they sprang into action. Good public health practices were not going to stop them from connecting with their readers--from a safe distance through social media, of course!
Many authors are doing this connecting through the social media platform Instagram--offering daily readings, drawing lessons, and question-and-answer sessions with readers. Your Chabot librarians are sharing links to lots of these events in our new Instagram account, @chabotlibrary.
While Chabot students are too young to have their own accounts on Instagram (the user agreement clearly states you must be 13 years old), some of the offerings--such as Mac Barnett's nightly readings from Mac B., Kid Spy--can be accessed online by non-account holders. Kids, have your parents follow us for more great ideas for fun things to do and watch while we're away from school.
